Lorrs is Laurent from Bretagne, currently operating in
Amsterdam.
His art is mostly made on recycled material: for example his 3d
creations like our mascotte Gorr is created out of pieces of
matrasses.
He came here in jan 2003 to help DJ Flumo with decorating the
boat party ‘Fluofairyland’, for this project he made
numerous paper-mashé objects like fishes, insects , huge flowers
and an octopus. During my stay here I made some art for the
housemate /landlord who organized parties under the name
Zirk. in begin of march I helped in the first Zirk party: in the Piet hein Tunnel. "
Since he was young he made drawings, paintings, juwelry, sculptures,
and later also
tattoo’s.. his type of art can be described as dark-
psychedelic
with some Celtic tribal influences.
"The Celtic
influence is maybe in my blood: I feel that it belongs to me,
many friends do have the same background also."
The influence may not be seen by most people though. An example
of the Celtic ruins can be seen in the ring in the painting
called LIMBO.
The dark side of his art is maybe the obsession he have
sometimes for danger and the mystic of death: "I think the grim reaper is
always around and between us, and before you know he’s
there and life ends.. You’d better enjoy the life as long as it
lasts…"
The jewelry he creates is mostly fluo and made with Fimo.
The techniqes he learned from Emilie
(FluoFairy) in
early 2003.
In the summer of 2003 Lorrs got a complete new obsession:
bakfietsen! (cargo-bikes) He likes to refit them and uses them
always in parties as bar, display, transport , etc…
       
In January 2004 the art of Lorrs is for sale! Al framed deco
which has been used in our parties can be obtained by you if you
like it
